What if one weekend in Queenstown could change your entire relationship?
This workshop is considered the equivalent of three to six months of relationship counselling, delivered in a single, immersive weekend.
Getting the Love You Want:
An Imago Couples Workshop with Sarah Deering
Getting the Love You Want is a world-renowned Imago workshop originally designed by Dr. Harville Hendrix, author of the best-selling book of the same name. It's now offered in more than 25 countries, and Sarah is one of a small number of certified presenters in New Zealand.
Over the course of a weekend, you and your partner will work through a carefully guided process that helps you understand why you chose each other, why you trigger each other, and how to turn those moments of friction into opportunities for deeper connection.
This isn't group therapy. You won't be asked to share in front of others. Everything happens privately between you and your partner, guided by Sarah in a space that is safe, confidential, and held with care. You'll practise real dialogue, reconnect emotionally, and leave with tools you can use for the rest of your lives together.
This workshop is for couples who...
Whatever stage you're at, this workshop meets you there.*
*If in crisis, it is highly recommended that you attend a minimum of 3 sessions with Sarah (or another Imago Therapist) before attending the workshop.
The workshop blends short talks, live demonstrations, written reflections, and guided exercises that you complete privately as a couple. At the heart of it all is the Imago Dialogue, a structured way of communicating that helps you truly hear each other, possibly for the first time.
You'll learn to understand the deeper reasons behind your reactions. You'll practise speaking and listening in a way that creates safety instead of defensiveness. And you'll reconnect with the parts of your relationship that brought you together in the first place.
Every participant receives a comprehensive workbook to use during and after the workshop so the learning doesn't stop when the weekend ends.
Day format:
Each day runs from 9am to 5.30pm with morning tea, a lunch break, and afternoon tea. Morning and afternoon tea are provided - lunch is self-catered, with cafes nearby.
